Streetwear
Streetwear is a phrase that is used to describe clothing that is typically worn by the fashion conscious living in metropolitan areas. Streetwear emerged out of the skate and surf scenes in Southern California and has since grown worldwide. Nowadays many types of streetwear brands have spread across the globe. The likes of Paul Frank, Addict, Fly53, Obey Clothing, SupremeBeing and WESC all started in different areas of the world and are now available everywhere and anywhere.
The streetwear fashion trend began way back in the early 80's as a combination of styles taken from the skate, surf, punk and hip hop scenes. Most of the people that were involved in these scenes grew up in the diverse cities of Southern California and were influenced by all of these individual scenes along with the street art and graffiti that came along with them.
The first streetwear brand that emerged out of California was Stussy. Shawn
Stussy was a professional surfer from California who decided to start making his own t-shirts with his signature signed across the front. The shirts began selling and slowly other brands started popping up and by the time the 90's had arrived streetwear had firmly established itself across the globe.

There are now a broad range of streetwear and urban clothing brands within the market from all over the world. American brands were at the forefront of the streetwear fashion scene with brands like Stussy starting it and brands like Paul Frank, Obey Clothing and Fly53 firmly establishing themselves within the clothing and accessories market.
Britain has now caught on with some of the freshest street fashions coming
from labels like Addict Clothing and SupremeBeing Clothing. Most of these labels have now become popular all over the world. European streetwear fashions are now making big impacts worldwide with the likes of MbyM and WESC. WESC have not only brought some of the best T-shirt and clothing designs to the market but they have also brought out a range of highly recommended WESC Headphones.
A lot of streetwear brands have now diversified to produce a wide range of products. WESC headphones are now becoming just as established within the streetwear industry as their t-shirt designs. Paul Frank however is the king of accessories with everything from bracelets to underwear and back again. Newer brands are now focusing on the female end of the market with Cheap Monday specialising in girls skinny jeans while Numph and Gentle Fawn focusing on a range of ladies fashions.
